How long does it take to complete a claim?

On average, past claims have been paid within 35 calendar days of the date the claim is first opened. Submitting Proof of Claim documentation as soon as possible can expedite the process. WALKAWAY has paid claims as quickly as 3 days.

Can I continue to drive my car while my claim is being processed?

Yes. Your car and the related financial obligations remain yours until your claim is approved. Once approved, your originating retailer or ING Novex's claims administrator will give you instructions for returning your vehicle.

There's no equity in my car because I financed my taxes and put no money down. What if $7,500 coverage isn't enough?

In the case of higher-end vehicles, expensive custom items or the financing of taxes and extras, $7,500 may not be enough to cover the financing shortfall if you return your vehicle. In this case, you would be required to make up the balance with your own funds. You may wish to choose WALKAWAY Elite or WALKAWAY Elite with 6-Month Payment Relief, which cover financing shortfalls up to $15,000 or WALKAWAY Premier which covers up to $25,000.

My wife and I share a car. Can we make a claim if one of us loses our job, even if the other one remains employed?

There can be only one insured person under each WALKAWAY certificate. For both spouses to be eligible for benefits, each must hold their own WALKAWAY policy and both must be named on the loan or lease. If you are both named on the loan or lease and you both have a policy, either one of you can make a claim even if the other remains employed.

I put a down payment on my lease. Do I get any of it back if return the car?

If the financing shortfall at the time you return your vehicle is less than the covered amount, you would be eligible for a full or partial pro-rated refund of your lease down payment. This benefit applies to leased vehicles only. WALKAWAY does not cover down payments on loans.
